Concrete is a very simple substance to create. It was first developed in the 19th century when builders were looking for a quick and strong way to create buildings. Concrete makeup is made up of cement water and aggregates. These aggregates are varied and can be made up of sand, shells,  gravel and crushed stone of various types.

The real skill of making concrete is down to getting the mix correct. If you have too much water then the mix will not be able to set. However, if you have too much in the way of aggregates that the mixture will be too rough and will not set correctly. It will also  be crumbly and won’t be able to withstand the pressures that are sure to be put on it. Eventually the mixture will start to fall apart and be next to useless. It takes a skilled technician to create the perfect mix.
